Who We Are

This website is operated by Wellingtons Living, which is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, or about your data, contact us at [email protected].

What We Collect

  • Technical data — your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you visit, recorded in server logs and used to keep the site running and secure.
  • Messages you send us — when you use a form on this site we receive your name, your email address, your phone number and the message you write.
  • Email sign-ups — your email address (and name, if you give it) when you join our mailing list, and a record of when you agreed to hear from us.
  • Your account — your name, email address and a securely stored password when you create an account.
  • Comments — what you write and the name you post under, which are shown publicly beside your comment.
  • Orders — your name, contact details, what you bought and, where something is delivered, the delivery address.
  • Payments — card payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive confirmation of the payment and its amount.
  • Business listings — where a business is listed in our directory, the contact details it publishes, and the name and email of anybody who claims or manages a listing.

How We Use It, and Why We Are Allowed To

  • To run this website, keep it secure and fix problems (our legitimate interests).
  • To reply to messages you send us (our legitimate interests, or steps you ask us to take before a contract).
  • To send you the emails you signed up for (your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email).
  • To take and manage your bookings and orders, and to send you confirmations about them (to perform our contract with you).
  • To provide your account and show the comments you post (to perform our contract with you).
  • To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.

Who We Share It With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run this site, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Our website hosting and content-delivery providers, including Cloudflare, which store and serve this website.
  • Mailgun, which delivers the emails this site sends.
  • Stripe, which processes card payments (Stripe's privacy policy).

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by safeguards such as approved standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We use cookies that are essential for the site to work — keeping you signed in and protecting forms against misuse. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How Long We Keep It

  • Messages and enquiries: up to two years after our last contact with you.
  • Mailing list details: until you unsubscribe.
  • Account details: until you close your account.
  • Booking, order and payment records: six years, as tax law requires.
  • Server logs: a short period, normally no more than a few weeks.

Your Rights

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on it. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version on this page, with the date at the top, is the current one.
